I was going to order one as my engine is apart now as well. From what I read though they seem to be good pumps. However, if you do decide to sell yours and go with the billit gearing, shoot me a PM

I know of 3 people over 600hp that have blown their engines to pieces when the MMR pump failed. Good luck.

Either use the Cobra pump or go dry sump.

Thumbs down

I wouldn't use there pump, I would use a billet pump for high horse power. that is what all of our customers use. You can put crap in a nice box but its still crap.

Hmmmm...... that scares me
I wonder if there was a underlying issue... maybe they overtightened the crank bolt causing the pump gear to crack?

That is an old wise tale to cover peoples butt. if you look at the crank there is a step on the snout of the crank that the balancer stops at. which provides more than enough clearance between the balancer and the oil pump. if anything it would push out thrust and then you might suck up bearing material that way and take out the pump. but most commonly the crappy gears break under high RPM, or when someone has a blower and cranks down on the belt so tight that it puts more side load on the pump. but again if you have crappy gears then the chances of them breaking is greater. Your best Bet is to go with a billet gear, it can with stand more RPMs and the material is stronger. Cyro treating is like putting a 3 inch band aid on a 4 inch cut it might help for alittle while but will not fix the problem.

Cryo treating is a double edge sword, It makes it stronger and it makes it and conversely, the stronger it is, (The denser it becomes) the more brittle it becomes.

They assume a happy medium but sometimes it's overkill.
