Default BUYING MUSTANG, NEED HELP

Hopefully soon im going to be buying a 99-04 gt, mach 1, etc.. Anything of that style except a v6...Ok anyways i test drove an 03 gt and was pretty impressed with it but the problem is im getting people telling me a TPI 305 camaro or firebird is able to keep pace with a gt of this year, also that the 5 speeds in the 'stangs cant handle that much power. This i highly doubt because i own a 1990 formula firebird with a 305, i have never raced against a 4.6 but my 305 doesnt feel that fast, so maybe you guys could help me out with 1/4 mile times, peak power, things like that, anything technical so i could learn some more before i put myself into another loan and then realize i screwed up and cant do anything about it at that point. Any information you guys can give is greatly appreciated, thanks alot.

ummmmmm............ what year firebird are we talking about. weren't the early 90's TPI i think the gts are as fast if not faster than those. but smooth body style i hear are a little faster, don't know what what they are called, is it f-bodys, or is that just camaros.

No Firebirds are f bodies to, i would hope a 99-04 gt would be alot faster since there hasnt been a TPI car in 13 years.

buy at least a Mach1, if not an 03-04 cobra... everything else you'll have to DUMP money into to make it fast.

Is it 5500? I thought it was a little higher. I run mine up to the rev limiter, which I think is about 6250, mayble a little less.

Yeah, the Cobras are much faster and MUCH more $$$. I didn't get the impression that the guy has REALLY deep pockets for this purchase. Go with the late model GT.
