Default Loctite removal

When I put on my Steeda Tri-ax I couldn't get my mach 1 shift **** to line up evenly without being too loose so I used some locktite. It's worked perfectly but, I cant seem to get it off now. I used the blue bottle if I remember correctly. Any ideas on how to get it off??

It sucks you can't really use heat because of the area. At least the blue isn't the stronger of the loctite. Is the shift **** metal?

Yeah it is. I tried heating up the stem of the shift know with a lighter but it still wouldn't budge.

the only thing I can think of is just take the bolts out of the handle and get a new one from steeda or try one of those trick stick handles from upr

For some reason I thought you ment getting the locktite off... heat is about the only thing that would work

I did the same thing on mine.

I had to wrap the **** with a rag and use a pipe wrench to break the **** loose.

Just be careful and it won't scuff it up.

That non-slip stuff used to line toolbox drawers is good for griping things. If it's going to take a bunch of force I'd remove the handle just to make sure you don't break something in the shifter...

Next timer use Teflon pipe tape, wrap enough around the threads so that the shift **** tightens up where you want it...

That sounds about the only thing to do I would try that.

Or another thing I've done for stuff that can't get scratched is wrap the jaws of vice grips with duct tape and try that.
