I changed an oil in my 4.6 and instead of 5qt (according to capacities in a manual) I dropped 6
should I remove 1qt or is it not going to be harmful .

If the stick is reading ok then I wouldnt think twice about it. Just as long as its not over the max. Its the same way with my car. The manual says 5 but that only gets me to right at the minimum on the stick so I always add another quart to get close to the max or so.

typically 6 qt's is what they really take. I used 6 qt's in mine.

As long as the stick reads good you should be OK.

Just make sure it doesn't really go over max, that wouldn't be a good thing.

My '98 GT vert manual calls for 6 quarts when changing filter. Speaking of oil, next time try this stuff:

I don't no what manuals you guys have but mine states 5.7 qt. It gives a perfect reading in the dipstick every time right in the middle. So ya, 6 should give you higher but still below tha max.
