96Cobra or Mach1?
Ok guys I've been away from here for looooong time. I'm getting me another mustang. So here's my two candidates:
1996 Cobra with a huge list of stuff done to it. Here's what I remember from the top of my head.
1996 Mustang Cobra SVT80,217 miles, , 2001 Cobra IRS rear end with 355 gears, Steeda sway bar bushing set, EEC-Tuner circuit board, SVO single blade throttle body, Holley 255 fuel pump, Auto Specialties under-drive pulleys, BBK cold air intake system, WMS Velocity Tube, BBK long tube headers, BBK X pipe, MagnaFlow mufflers with stainless steel dumps, MIL Eliminator, Steeda Ultra cool aluminum radiator, Kenny Bell Hi speed radiator fan relay switch system, Mirage aluminum front brake cooling ducts, Wilwood 6 piston calipers with 13” slotted front brake rotors and 12” SVT rear rotors, complete brake fluid flush and new pads, newly painted black SVT 2003 Cobra 17x9 wheels, front 255/45 BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS and rear 275/40 Mickey Thompson ET street drag radial tires, Max. Motor-sports camber plates, Koni coil-over shocks with Eibach springs, Kenny Brown jacking rails, Kenny Brown super sub frame connectors, Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, Steeda Pistol grip handle, Abbott ERA speedo unit and Black window tint. New Ram HD clutch in box.
I saw this car already and it is in good shape. Everythinmg it's been done right or so it appears.
The other car is a 1995GT with Engine, tranny(auto) and interior from an 04 mach1 35000 miles on everything. It's all stock from there. This one I'm going to see tomorrow.
What you guys think about this? On either of them I'm getting a good deal. The cobra is a bit more expensive maybe a grand more. But both prices are really good deals. I know the Mach1 will have more power but the one thign it's got I don't like is the Auto trany. Also I think the Cobra will hold better value.
Sorry about the long post. Let me hear it...

i personally would have my mechanic check out that cobra to make sure everything was done right, since that is a lot of work put into it, and id definately take the cobra. the auto tranny in the mach gt just turns me off...

if the mach 1 was a five speed then i would go for that one. +1 on having the cars checked out by someone as a used sports car can potentially have a lot wrong with it, even moreso with one that has had so many upgrades/ replacements. you just have to assume that it has been driven hard because who modifys a car to drive it like a little old lady...nobody.
