Default 2v to 4v??

How hard would it be for me to convert my GT to DOHC? I'm gonna be building my engine bullitproof so I just would like it to be 4v too. Is this too much of a task to even begin?

Default RE: 2v to 4v??

I just converted my 96 GT a month ago I will list the stuff I had to change

-ECM
-Throttle Cable. GT cable is a little bit short
-Cruise control Cable Same thing
-The 4V have a different Radiatror hose setup so you will need all new hoses and make sure you get a new thermostat housing
-The GT hood will rub on intake not bad you can shut the hood but it will rub so Cobra hood or Cowl hood
-My GT strut tower will not fit anymore
-Get the engine bay wiring harness
-There is a difference between the GT and Cobra T45 I don't know what it is. My GT transmission turned out to be junk after I got the engine in the car of course So I'm in the process of putting a Cobra T45 in right now. But I was driving it with the GT one in it until lst Saturday.
-The secondary air pumps will not work unless you get the wiring for them. My harness did not come with it so they are not even hooked up. These are the pumps in the front of the engine that put fresh air into the exhaust so you don't kill little birdy's.
I can't think of anything else right now, it realy wasn't that bad of a swap the hardest part was trying to figure out that thermostat housing only because I didn't have any reference to look at.

Thanks! I went with the 4V because the 2V had a rod put thru the side of the block by the previos owner and they J-B welded the block thinking it would hold up. And for what it cost to make the 2V a good motor I figured I would spend the $ and get a good start on the 4V.

Dang. I wanna go find me an '03 cobra motor after reading all that.

What does it take to put a rod clean through?

You know that the J.B. Weld tube indicates that you could repair a block! Guess you can't believe everything that you read!
