Rear-end fluids do not need to be changed that often at all. But if you are going to do it once, you mightaswell get a girdle once for all. Plus with the girdle, you could also pair it up with a nice reuseable gasket like the lubelocker one:

That way if you eventually go with gears/a 31 spline rear end, you can remove and reinstall it very easily. Also changing the fluids is just a matter of draining and refilling, rather than messing with cleaning off gasket material, making new gasket beads, and etc.

Don't forget that one of the main advantages of a girdle is the 2 load bolts which screw against the bearing caps. Basically if you ever end up with high HP and/or launch your car at the track with slicks, it puts a lot of stress on the bearing caps which is what holds down the differential/ring gear. These 2 bolts provide aditional support to strengthen the rear-end.

When picking which girdle to go with, all of them are all basically the same. Just pick the brand with a name you want showing. The "better" ones seem to be FRPP, Trickflow, TA Performance...

And yes try your best to cancel your order for that chrome cover from AM. It's simply a waste of time to be honest...
