Default Fuel Filter Reminder........

I am Very good about changing oil, plugs, all the reccommended parts before the mileage in the book etc.
But one thing i had forgotten about was the fuel filter. Factory calls for every 15k, but i thought with the sea foam and other similar products i was using that it would be ok. Went 22k on it and was amazed on how clogged it was. Gas was barely dripping when i hit it to the ground and you could barely feel the air when blowing through it.
After i got the new one in it was almost like a new set of plugs were put in.

Know a lot of you are very great with this, just wanted to remind those who cars aren't running quite like they were. Aside from running better also get better gas mileage i would think. Not much, but i highly recommend it guys. Just one of those parts thats kind of 'out of sight out of mind'. Atleast for me it was. Hope this helps or reminds some of you. Cheap and easy change, that really brings performance back.

Regards,

Alexander

I agree with you, lots of people forget about fuel filters. Even thos they are cheap like $15 and are easy to change just takes about 20 min of your life. I am going to change mine every 20K miles.

A fuel what?!?! LOL thats something i change every 10k or 3 oil changes, i figure since its only 10.00 thats less than what i would loose in fuel due to it slightly stopping up and dropping a few MPG's

I just changed mine at 15K and it was nasty. The gas pouring out of the inlet (unfiltered side) was a thick muddy brown...just shows what kind of crap we're paying for every time we fill up.

Yeah I am going to do mine every 10k or 3 oil changes. Especially from what i know about the gas all of us are getting. Even when we use the 91 the difference between that and the 87 is so small you can barely tell the difference in a lab.

ALL the gas we get comes from the cheapest that is on the market at that time. Every company does this. So if your going to a gas station because you think your getting better gas your not. But i would stay away from those stations that have the old time pumps that don't get much business
