Default Caster/Camber Plates?

I'm hoping to install a set of eibach pro kit lowering springs on my 02 mustang GT next weekend but I read somewhere that I need caster/camber plates in order to properly align the front end after installing the lowering springs. Is this true or can I do it without them?

You need them, You can get by at first, But you will eat through your front tires. Also your tires will slant Bottom out top in, Like the Engine weighs a million pounds. Thats why the tread goes. Plus it looks better. If you can find anyone parting out their mustang go for it, its not like they go bad or anything. New about $220-250 i think

I can tell you that I have experienced the tire wear mentioned, and I'm in the process of looking at CC plates ASAP. (I installed the same lowering kit)

Here is a link to the thread I recently started to give you some background, and some great feedback from "Cliffyk".

Here is a link to Maximum Motorsports FAQs, which answered several of my questions:

http://www.maximummotorsports.com/st...e=faq_ccplates

Here is a link to their installation instructions. On page 5 they give "thier" recommended alignment specs, which I intend to try as they should know more than I do on this subject:

I hope this helps you with the topic!

Take care!

If you are not going to changing your camber a lot and do not want to spend a lot of money, you can buy camber bolts:

This is what I used and they work great. Best part is they are only 24 bucks and were SUPER easy to install...

Thank you WOLVERINE! You just saved me a ton of money and aggravation. I never thought about getting Camber Bolts, for the Eibach Pro Kit Springs. I've been putting off the Caster Camber Plates for 5 years. Now I can fix that this week thanks to you. Thanks again, although I didn't think to ask about it.

So can you get away with just running the camber bolts?

I believe it depends on how low the springs drop your car. Mine isn't lowered that much, so I think they will help.

I ordered the Camber Bolts from Summit, and put them in yesterday. Like you said, EASY install. Thirty minutes a wheel. Thank you WOLVERINE!! Funny, I waited all these years putting off getting the PLATES, and right when I was going to order them, your one small sentence saved the day. And $30.00 at that, with shipping. You saved me so much aggravation.

Anytime, glad I could help.

I did the same thing, waited for a long time that is to buy them after I lowered the car. I just had a hard time spending all that $$ for plates when the bolts were $30.00. Had them in there now over a year and had zero problems out of them. I ended up using the money I saved to buy the 3:73's that are in the rear now .
