Default doing a head swap

i am doing a head. am taking heads off a 01 gt an puttin them on my 97 gt i was wonderin what kind of gains will i see from this i've heard anywhere from 30 to 40 hp gain's an also what gear do you perfer 3;55 or 3;73 an why?

you need the manifold and cams also...since you mentioned nothing about those.

assuming everything else on your car is stock, you will have roughly 265~ crank horsepower. the old gt like you have has 220hp, the PI (newer) gt has 260 stock. your compression will be slightly higher, hence the few extra horsepower.

You won't see 30-40 hp from the heads alone. You might if you did a full PI swap.

To answer your question about the gears...3.73's bare minimum. Unless you plan on doing a blower, i'd recommend 4.10's.

yes am doing a full pi swap right now my gt is a lil puppy waiting to grow up. all i have is a throttle body a cold air intake kit an a chip in it.it's gonna be a daily driver so no blower or supercharger

NO!!!!! lol you wont really notice much of a decrese in MPG's unless your always on it.

dont get 3.55 gears. not worth the money. if your going to spend money on gears get 3.73 at least 4.10 wont hurt your MPG. or your top speed for that matter.
