Just to clear up this warranty info., I think his name is Dan02GT or something...this came straight from Fords website under the mustang warranty, in the section about what is NOT covered.</P>

Damage caused by:</P>

-altering or modifying the vehicle- including the body, chassis, or components- after the vehicle leaves Ford's control</P>

-non-Ford parts installed after the vehicle leaves Fords control. For example, but not limited to, cell phones, alarm systems, automatic starting systems, and performance-enhancing powertrain chips.</P>

Hope this clearseverything up for you Dan.</P>

Keyword, damages CAUSED BY the performance parts INSTALLED. Perfect example is me. My 30k motor in my 02 GT went and blew up...I have headers, aftermarket MAF, magnaflow h-pipe, magnaflow mufflers, a FORD dealership installed a brand new short block for the $500 deductable, fully covered under warranty. AND, the area supervisor for FORD came and apparantly took a good look at my motor, saw the obvious aftermarket parts and still gave me a new short block.</P>

What you need to understand IS, you can install ALL the aftermarket parts you want (that are NOT internal) and STILL be covered by warranty (except for nitrous or blowers). The only CATCH is if the dealership believes the part you installed CAUSED the blow-up.</P>

Hope this clears things up for you. </P>

Now, for example:</P>

Say my aftermarket MAF sensor broke and somehow caused my motor to blow up, THEN I would be up a s-hit-creek with no paddle.</P>

The problem people run into, is a dealership that doesn't have time, or doesn't want to do the work. THAT'S the problem, and they once they see aftermarket parts, that's their excuse to get out of doing the work. <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

and thats when you get a lawyer!!!! (as long as you can prove your aftermarket parts were not the cause of failure)

In other words, if your aftermarket MAF failed, in return your motor blew up all over the road...or your aftermarket intake cracked and let gobs of water in and blew up the motor.....or the headers that melted plug wires, got a nice skip and then bam, motor blows up, then you just f'cked without a condom and you got some big issues.</P>

It's common sense people, it's really not that difficult to understand. <IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"></P>

Take this to any KNOWLEDGABLE dealership, or a dealership that sells high performance cars and they will tell you the same thing I just did. It's a federal friggin law BTW....quit arguing it.</P><edited><editID>Dan02GT</editID><editDate>37950.8107638889</editDate></edited>
