No. Throw out bearings only really makes noise when you push the clutch in.

Have no idea where noise is coming from, it only does it at high rpms. I'm going to pull the shifter boot to see if I can hear it more clearly.

I was thinking a little more along the line of a supercharger,, more rpm,,more wine!!

Seriously though,, may very well be the TOB,, mine makes a squeeling noise every now and again,,i push in on the clutch pedal a half inch and it goes away,,now the springs in the disk are ratteling between 2000-2500rpm,,new clutch in my near future!!!!!!

Sometimes the throw out bearing will make a swishing kinda humming noise when sitting idle, but the noise isn't going to be there at high rpm. It will always be there.

It only happens at high RPM's and depressing the clutch doesn't seem to make any difference.

The blower is loud no doubt, but I don't think its causing the whining sound.

If the TOB is toast, you WILL KNOW FOR SURE.
