Default Squealing brakes

Put on new pads and bedded them properly but they still squeal when i start applying the brakes and when i am getting off the brakes but not when i am holding pressure on them while slowing down. Any Ideas?

Did you cut the old rotors or put new rotors on?

Did you do just the fronts?

I have the same problem, and no they are not cheap pads/rotors. Try googling 'squealing brakes' and you will find out there are many suspected causes and the usual answer is 'I don't know why'. I wish I had kept the link to the article that I read... it was very informative on this.

As Vanquish asked, did you do anything with the rotors?
If the rotors were not turned to an almost perfect finish, even if new, that could be a cause. If the brakes/rotors were not correctly broke in, that could be a cause. If you installed the brakes when the moon was in the wrong phase, that could be a cause.

02stang... I would take it back to that shop. They may not do anything for you but then again they may redo the job for you.

take them apart again and see if the pad has shifted. the first and only time i had my brakes done by someone else they f'ed it up. he did not line the little bumps on the back of the brake pad up properly and they shifted. if you have ever done brakes the you will know what i'm tlaking about. so my vote is they shifted if not then you have a phantom squeak lol

Permatex Disc Brake Quiet--I never install brake pads without it, even if they come with so-called anti-squeal shims. If so, use the spray on the pad backing plate inbetween the plate and shim, and on the shim where it will contact the caliper or piston.
