Umm, I'm not experienced with turbos, but I don't see how a chip will change the psi.

Can someone explain that?

the jettas have N75 electronic boost control soleniods. the chip tells the solenoid to close the wastegate therfore createing more boost.

also different 1.8T came with different turbos and different power levals. if its just the base 1.8T it has a KKK KO3 turbo which falls on its face after making peak boost but if its the GLI/GTI then it has a much more efficient turbo that will make full boost at around 2700 rpm and will hold it all the way till 7100rpm

First things first, you will smoke him no questions ask. If you don't let me know and I will burn my GT! LOL, just kidding. Anyways I also own a 95 awd turbo eclipse running 20psi, with over 10,000 under the hood. Big turbo, biggest intercooler Greddy makes, 3in full exhaust, stand alone fuel management system, and the whole works to go with it. It is a quick little car, all tires will even lay rubber! The thing is that it feels, Feels fast! Raced my buddy's 00 Mustang, he has headers, exhaust, 75mm TB, and K&N. He smoked me through every gear, I had him through the hole bc of the AWD then after that i was sucking slough water all the way through the 1/4. Anyway, take it from someone who knows, you will take him for sure. Remember if you don't win, let me know and I will gladly burn my Stang! I say that with confidence though, make us all proud and shut his mouth. There is no replacement for displacement. Go get em!

you did it wrong then. i knoe plenty of 11 sec eclipse owners who only have a 20G, external waste gate full exhaust full intake HKS cams and a fat tire that all together cost like 3K. so you musta spent money on like TV's and ****

I have the 16g, i wish i had the 20g, i didn't have the money to go external waste gate at the time. Also, I have stock internals, no cams, i have them just haven't put them it yet. Next project is to get a sheet metal intake, install the cams and get a 20g, external waste gate. I am already having boost creep problems. Also, mine is a auto too, so I am goona get a 4000 stall. I can't build boost off the start bc it starts to ingage, so after that It will be alot faster. Besides the point, the 00 mustang will absolutely kill that 1.8! I put my life on it.

go grab HKS 272 intake 272 exhaust cams from www.overbooststore.com this will give you more power than a 16 to 20G swap would. from they spankin you recieved your running the small 16G right?

BTW i had a '95 GST but i only had it for 2 days i crasehed into a tree while understeering.
