Default timeing hydrolic tensioners...

Anyone know a way to test these? i put the timing crap back on last weekend, and when i was done the drivers side chain had some slack in it. Now when i pull the motor apart the passenger side has slack, so i replaced that chain. Well now im thinking that maybe its just where the cam shaft is sitting that makes it a bit loose? or the tensioner isnt working right? i mean the other sides fine now, and i made sure to keep one side sepirate from the other...im just looking to make sure i dont put the thing in this weekend and have bad timing stuff.

you're timing your cams to the crank, you want there to be no slack on the chain guide side. All the slack should be on the tensioner side, once oil pressure hits the tensioner, then i believe there will be no slack in your chains. at least thats how i did it...

edit: where you at in Oregon

dundee. Well thats why i was wondering, the little bit of slack is on the far side, not the tensioner side, but the tensioner side is tight. Im sure it will be fine once it gets oil pressure i just wanted to make sure.
