Default engine stays hot

Does anyone elses engine stay hot after it been sittin for a long peroid of time. The gauge usually stays around the M and R when driving so I dont think its running hot. Today I got home at 12 noon and went outside to put my new belt on at 3pm. and the engine was still really hot. Got in the car and turn the key on and the temp gauge showed cold but the engine was still very hot to the touch.I thought aluminum dissapates heat faster than cast?

theres not an issue with your car that normal. your engine will not get ice cold in a few hours. and yes aluminum does cool down faster but your engine is a iron block with aluminum heads.

oh ok for some reason I thought these were all aluminum, just got the car so learning new stuff everyday. Just was concerned because the upper radiator hose was so hot I couldnt even attempt to put the belt on, almost burn your skin hot.

If you leave the hood open the engine will cool faster for you to work on it.

as long as its not 90 degrees and you're in the sun, yes that helps.
