Tensioner Problems Anyone?

Tensioner Problems Anyone?
So, I guess this is a common problem according to some of my mechs. I just recently replaced mine because the wining sound almost overpowered the exhaust. I then put in a new one from autozone (they only have one). Problem solved.... for a week! It started up again. So, I brought it back to the shop and my mech checked out with ford. It turns out they make 3 diff ones for the stangs. The one that is supposed to fix the sound is a kit with a tensioner and a belt that cost $156 just for the part. Does that price sound right? Anyone esle have this problem?
Oh yeah I have a 99 GT.

RE: Tensioner Problems Anyone?
i have a sound that i thought may have been coming from this area, however i havent done anyting about it yet.
Its not really a whining, nor a rattling, but almost like a mix of the two. It happens after the car has ran for a bit, or reved up closer to 5K.
It IS very annoying however, and can even be heard above my exhausts idle (which isnt quite stock).
let me konw if you think this could be the same sound man, like to figure it out myself.
thanks,

RE: Tensioner Problems Anyone?
It's not the same problem. I hear this just when I rev the car. The first time I heard it, it was coming from my idle pulley. So, I changed that one and another one because the bearing was gone (37k). Now (41k) I start hearing the noise again (by the way I store my mustang for the winter). So, I brought it back and it turns out it's now the tensioner and that is 10x worse. It was really loud and I didn't even want to drive the car. So, I bought a new one. Autozone and everyone else only has one option for the tensioner. So, I bought that and had it installed. I also replaced the rest of my pullies with March UDP so, everything is new. A week later I start hearing the noise again. Not nearly as loud but still there and annoying. (You can't show off your car when you here that) I only hear the noise in the low gears 1st and 2nd (a little in third). So, I brought the car back and its the tensioner again. IT HAS ONLY 300 MILES on it!!! So, my mech called ford, since it's a common problem. They make 3 different tensioners for the mustang because it's a problem with them. You can tell the difference because one has steel and one has aluminum. Its a kit that comes with a belt for about 150. I am pretty sure you have to go thru a ford parts dealer for this because before this I didn't know there was 3 different types.
The sound blows and I'm sure this is going to happen to alot of us.
