Default Broken bolt :(((

I broke rear M10 bolt which attaches my drivers seat. How to remove it?
I sprayed it with WD40 a leave it overnight.

The other piece of the bolt is going through the floor and accessible from the bottom of the car. However it completely rusted out so two nut option will not work.

This should not be a hardened bolt, so you can use an "easy-out" type of extractor:

There are some other types, but these work well and have about 10 different sizes myself. Head to the hardware store and pick up one for your diameter bolt (probably 3/8" or so for seats). You need a drill bit that is about equal to the diameter of 1/2 way down the extractor and drill through the center of broken bolt. Then you carefully thread the extractor in this hole and unscrew that puppy.

I hope it works. This bolt has sh#t load of torque. I had to use breaker bar to undo the rest of the bolts. I just afraid to break the extractor. I guess I will try it anyway.

GO SLOW so you can keep a good "feel" of the tension of the extractor. You may also be able to drill from underneath and extract it out of the bottom as well. You can also use a grinder to make the portion of bolt below the car flush so you don't have to unscrew the bolt past all the rust that may be accumulated around the exposed section of threads.

PS. The extractor is not unbreakable, but is hardened so should hold up well. Choose an extactor with the middle portion to be about 1/2 the diameter of the bolt you wish to exract... make sense?

I had the same problem, the easiest way to get it out is go underneath the car and use a dremel with a cutting blade and cut a slit right into the portion of the bolt sticking out and use a large flathead screwdriver to back it out.

LOl uber backyard mechanic technique. But honestly every single friggin time i go to use an easy out i friggin brake em, the screwdriver trick works and is alot easier. For smalled bolts u or non hardened u can just sharpen a flat head and hammer it against the stud with a hammer and it creases enough to back it out too.
