TCI makes a streetfighter that's not half bad. Def 3200 or more for the stall. I have seen 3600 work great.

I was going to get the TCI streetfighter 3200, also looked at Precision Industries. Ended up going with a Dirty Dog Performance 3600 stall converter with the billet cover. Give Alan a call and he can set you up.

You will need a computer out of auto and a wiring harness for the 4r70w, auto driveshaft or just the yoke, flexplate, shifter and shifter cable and converter. You will also need to get it re-keyed from Ford or have your tuner turn off your PATS system for your key to work.

For my swap I bought a Dirty Dog 3800 10" stall that Alan custom built. I highly recommend you give him a call. He is a great guy and knows his stuff. I told him I needed a converter that would hold up to my nitrous and for $625 he said he would make me one that he guaranteed to hold up.

I would get your tranny rebuilt and it will be good for slicks and the track. J-mod or shift kit. You could also get a trans brake. I would go with a 3600-3800 stall if I was you. Just call Alan and he will recommend you the right stall.

Also, make sure you get a good trans cooler. That is one of the most important things that will save your tranny and converter. I bought a B&M trans cooler and trans temp guage for a very reasonable price. The last thing you need is to have your tranny overheat when your at the track running it hard.

2 things to remember: don't cheap out on the converter or trans cooler. Your spray is going to blow a stock converter and overheating your tranny will blow up everything.

This is true...I didnt have an aftermarket cooler on my auto in my ranger, and I toasted the tranny and literally split the converter in two pieces, and this was the aftermarket 3200 stall....I only had 300hp at the crank too...heat is bad news!!!!

What I did was just bought a transmission harness and computer from an automatic that was the same year as my car. I'm not sure if it would have mattered if I miss and matched the computer and harness years but to make things easier I got the same year.

What I did was went to http://www.car-part.com/ put in my vehicles year, make and model then I put in "engine computer" selected your region or state. Once the results came up there should only be one option for the 4.6 SOHC from an automatic, select that and a list should come up with all the places that have a computer for your year car.
