Default Swapping npi motor for a pi motor. What do I keep from my pi motor

Well I'm going to pull my npi motor outa my car bc a pi head swap went wrong. I had a bad piston ring which gave me a horrable case of blow by. I was just wondering wat parts would I need to keep from my npi motor to make this swap

Why not just get a NPI short block and put the PI heads on it? If you want to do a complete PI motor swap, just keep the accessories like the A/C compressor, alternator, etc off from the NPI and swap in the complete PI motor.

I thought about that, but I don't really want to do the head swap again. Besides, I ran my car pretty hard and managed to leak enough oil into my CAI and into my intake manifold which made me drivers side head start knocking pretty loud

Yeah, you will need to keep those, basically you keep everything from the NPI and hook it up to the PI motor. If you decide to sell the old PI stuff let me know, I am looking for a complete swap.

Look and see if the old npi timing case cover will bolt to the pi setup, I've heard it will from some and that it won't from some. If it will then I'd swap the whole setup, timing case cover and accessories over so you can keep the 3 bolt tensioner setup instead of the 1 bolt setup that the pi cars have.

how much is this costing you? im not thread jacking but i want to do the pi swap on my girlfriends 98gt this winter. i would like to keep the engine in the car and just swap on what i need from a pi engine but i dont know anything about this swap. what parts do i need? i have always owned a new edge mustang and just enjoyed the already installed pi setup.

I paid $280 for the heads, $220 for the intake, $1something for the head gaskets and bolts. Since all that went south, I found a pi motor for about $1000 so I'm going that route now. The head job was a little difficult and time consuming. If u do it be sure to print out the how- to's. They r a life saver
