Default Suggestion on Hand Help Tuners.

What hand held tuners do you guys use? I was thinking about maybe a SCT Livewire but I'm unsure. Right now the only thing I have done to my car is 3.73's and a short throw shifter but I'm kinda wanting to knock that out of the way next. Anyways what do you guys suggest?

SCT SF3 is probably the most popular tuner here. I just purchased one last week and its coming this Tuesday. Can't wait to load it up and see how much of a difference it is compared to the stock tune. Heard good things about Delta Force and Diablo tuners as well. Also take into consideration what your performance shop uses if you ever plan on boosting your car or even getting nitrous.

I will prolly go with a Kenne bell at a later date. The thing is I'm not sure what shop I'm going to be around. As soon as I get back from Afganistan I'll be moving and I'm not real sure where I'm moving to yet. (right now I'm in Germany). Thanks for the advice though im going to check it out.

I'll have to agree, the biggest factor in deciding the tuner is which software the dyno shop is familiar with.

I went with the sc3 tuner preloaded from american muscle. very easy to use and totally worth it. Put in gears, throttle body, cai, the tune made everything come together.

The problem is I have no idea where I'm going to. With me being in Army its hard to get a good shop for any length of time so I can't really go on that. That is why I was looking at the livewire cause there is alot of tuning you can do yourself with it.

sct 3 can do all the same things the livewire can do. just doesnt have the lcd screen which really is a waste. i had a livewire and i got it for $250 but i wouldnt waste the $600 on it just for the bling factor of hey ive got a tuner i can put on my dash and watch my intake temps lol. it attracts thieves. trust me thats why i have a sct x3 now. damn thieves.

Ya I would rather have options myself. Money isnt that big of an issue but if i can save a dollor here and there it will make things come together faster. Thanks for the advice guys.

Exclamation

you mentioned diablosport handheld, this is what i have, very user friendly to use but there is a drawback. DO NOT load a tune with any programmer with a weak battery this will completly freeze the computer. To fix the problem you have to visit your local ford dealer and cost about 85 bucks. Yes this happened to me at the local track.
