Wierd Rattle Under Car
I have discovered a rattle under my car when I stopped to get gas the car was idling for about 5 minutes then a rattle under the car started you don't hear it under the hood at all and it doesn't make any noise going down the road that I can hear once I got home I left it running but no noise and about 5 2 or 3 minutes after sitting there it started again I recently had the clutch cable dust cover off and it hasn't really been driven much since then it is really loud under the car though but you can't hear anywhere else. Any ideas on what would cause it.

No I was at the gas station putting gas in a can for the lawnmower but I have looked at it a little more and the noise only shows up when it has been in gear then you put it in Neutral is a 5-Speed throwout bearing just started chirping as well today.

Check the heat shield on the cats.. Had the same problem here with intermittent rattling and that was the culprit!! Good luck..

no cats off road X-Pipe could it be the bearing in the input shaft doubt it would be a TOB could be possible but I've never heard a TOB make a knocking/rattle is the best way to describe it it comes out right near the front of the transmisson, shifts through all gears fine, clutch isn't slipping, nothing out of the ordinary but the noise. this is the first time the car has been driven in 2-3 weeks was today not sure what would have changed between then.

ok so i checked the o2's and no dice so i pulled the clutch cable dust cover and noticed the arm that comes out is scraping the cover and cutting slight grooves in it. I had the car up and cranked it and noticed the arm that holds the cable was jumping ever so slightly up and down is there any certain reason this may happen? any suggestions greatly appreciated at this point.
