I'd say it depends on how far you are going to take the car. If you're going to end up with a built motor anyway, start at the bottom and work your way up. If you'll do heads or FI and stop there, I'd go FI. But that's just me.
his name is mustangmancp just ran across one of his threads. and keep in mind, i said 300whp on a MUSTANG dyno, they read lower than dynojet but i dont recall how much. thats why i said something like 320 on a dynojet (thats the traditional dyno everyone uses).
and what cams are those 350+whp guys running? i guarantee it aint a stage 1 or 2...
Yea you'll need a pretty big cam to get into the 350 hp range. But i mean my car is pretty DD friendly. It idles well...starts fine...doesn't really surge at all. The only thing that stinks is the MPGs...but im ok w/ em.
Another thing i need to do is get rid of my stock-style intake plenum. Theres one called the 6061 intake that will give me a nice lil bump in hp i think.
I just LOVE the sound of cams..and just knew i was gonna put TFS heads on it soon anyways and I needed a new motor so i figured "what the hell" haha.
