I hadn't even heard of Griggs racing before you so they must not be that competitive of a race team. also seeing they had to file chapter 11 in Dec. of 09 they must not have been that great... "
John just asked me not to disclose some info and respecting his request. On the week of my work up there, Bruce, his bro and owner of GR, had a several phone conversations (one with the R&D team of Wilwood directly) reguarding the issue of how they address the end-play and upgrading of rear brakes (not because of me, but coincidentally). Usually, race cars will install a 9" rear-end and does not have such issues, so doesn't come into play on the track.

I was not told why, but believe the Chap 11 was due to owner of a building that was leased by GR and renigged on agreed upgrades to which they had relocated from Infineon. They were there only a single year and had to move the entire contents to another location a second time. Their shoppe is HUGE, so quite expensive to move twice in such a short period of time and in the economy of the day

Well without telling us too many secrets, is eliminating the rear end end play something that can be done with some minor mods or is it something more complex than that?

I was not given specifics, but if one is familar with axles and how much tolerance is needed to avoid over-heating or friction issues, just some creativity and thinking outside the box should do the trick
