Default Is it possible to disconnect the AC pully?

My car broke down 2 days ago. I traced it back to a broken AC Compressor pulley which I am assuming the whole compressor is broken. It's winter so I don't need the AC right now, but I do need my car.

Is there a way to disconnect the AC pulley, and buy a shorter belt so my car will run?

I live in Oklahoma so I will need the AC in the summer, I just don't want to spend the money getting the AC Compressor fixed right now.

Anyone have any advice?

Desperately need my pony running.

A shorter belt won't work because of the layout of the belt path, however you can buy an "AC Delete" bracket and idle pulley for $30 (or less, check eBay).

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I was wanting to know!

Is this part only available online, or is it easily obtainable from my local parts store like Autozone, O'Reilley's, etc?

Of course it will, they are separate systems.
