Default Got a brake problem...

So normally the brake pedal on my 01' GT is stiff and don't have any braking issues, as I was leaving work the other day my pedal went to floor. (AWESOME!!...NOT!) Well as I started troubleshooting I noticed a leak from the rear passenger side caliper. So I pulled it apart and cleaned it looking for where it was actually leaking from and nothing. Refilled the master cylinder and tried to bleed the brakes and still no pedal. Can't figure it out, no pressure in the pedal yet, and the leaking has stopped, can seem to get it to leak again. Can anyone give me another suggestion?

This is a complete shot in the dark, but could it be a Master Cylinder issue? Im not sure how you would test that component but maybe it could get you rolling in the right direction......or confuse you even more. Im sure someone will chime in.

How bad was the leak from the rear caliper? just a drip?

I questioned the master cylinder also but short of pulling it off I'm not sure of any other tests. The leask in the back caliper wasn't too bad just a drip... but since then sitting in my garage I haven't seen any more drips...

No leaks to speak of and still no pedal I'm betting master cylinder.

Just a SWAG though.

I worked on a 01 before and did a break job. I'm highly suggesting your inspect the master cylinder. Somehow air might have gone into the piston that pushes the fluid through the lines and into the calipers. there is a bleeder screw somewhere on the cylinder which should solve your issue. It did for me. Have someone pump the brakes while someone turns the bleeder screw in the master cylinder.

well after some careful inspection it seems that the rear passenger side brake line was bad, so I installed some new ones from AM and they seem to hold tight. So now I think it's time to go back to this master cylinder issue...
