replacing clutch yourself?
its gonna be me and a buddy of mine doing it so if the tranny gets to be to heavy he will help......the one thing that seems to be the biggest problem is that starter bold everything else seems pretty straight foward
its not super hard to do as long as you have some basic shop skills youll be fine. I just put a centerforce clutch in my 04 gt 5 spd and it was pretty straight forward.
Make sure to mark the drive shaft and where it connects before you pull it out. Also the part where the mid pype bolts up to the mainfold on the passenger side, one of the bolts is a pain to get to. A swivel that i think is 13mm is a awesome help for that thing.
There are 7 bolts for the tranny, 3 on the driver side, 2 on the passenger, and 2 up top. For the 2 up top all ya gotta do is put a jack under the tranny remove the cross member and lower it til you see the bolts. then take em out. there is a bracket up top that the bolts go tru make sure when you put the tranny back in make sure its not mashed between the tranny and block.
the easiest way to get to that starter bolt is to take off that passenger wheel and pull some of the plastic back wihle another person runs the extensions. The guy by the wheel can see the bolt and help guide the other guy onto it.
Other than that you should be good. If ya have any questions dont hesitate to ask ill be more than glad to help. Oh yeah the tranny is a little heavy but its not bad at all and im a little guy
