I agree with Uber that does not look like an eaton

You need to find out exactly what you have and I'm sure we can get you going in the right direction

You guys are right it doesn't have the springs. The previous owner had the work done back in '05, so it could've been a previous Eaton model. I've tried cross-referencing the model #'s w/no luck. I also placed a call out to Eaton that went to a particular guy's VM (so I'm still waiting to hear back).
BraMas, it looks similar to that one from Summit, so I'm thinking it could be an older-styled Detroit Locker.
Does anyone know of any good differential service shops that would be willing to help over the phone? Unfortunately when someone isn't presenting money, people aren't too willing to help.

I don't think that's it, I have worked on the Detroit C-Locker--here's a scan from the manual:
You can see that the axle spacer is a round rod, not a wedgy looking thing as in the OPs differential.
Also, the OPs differential seems to have worm gears like the Truetrac:

Cliffyk, it does look like the TrueTrac. The owner's manual says the axle spacers have a "key" to which the axle spacer fits into the carrier, which mine doesn't. I'll keep trying to cross-reference the part #, but have you worked on a TrueTrac?

I have never had a TrueTrac apart, only the old and "new" style lockers.
