Default PP Upper Plenum Missing a Fitting Spot

I picked up a Professional Products Upper Plenum and it is missing the hole for the vacuum line in the picture below so now my car throws a code P01443. I think the line is for my evap purge valve, but I don't know what that does either. Should I be concerned and see if I can get a new plenum?

Do you need this vacuum line or can I just cap it off?

I just had to erase my post after re-reading your post, I thought you were missing the fitting, not the threaded hole that the fitting goes into. I would send it back, you'll never pass smog inspection without it (I hear NJ is just as strict as CA). I bought the same plenum a few years ago and didn't have that problem.

^That's what I thought, that I didn't get something that was normal. And yes NJ is strict with emissions, not as bad as Cali. You just need to not throw any codes.

I'm thinking I might just tap it. The hole is right there, but it just isn't drilled through. So drill the rest of the hole and tap it and I should be good.

However, does anyone know if I could just T-Fit the hose onto the PCV hose leading into the plenum? It would make it a lot easier than tapping.

Do it properly--either drill it out and tap it (and send whomever you bought it from a bill), or send it back.

Did it come with the hose barb? Sounds like they sent you a plenum for some other 4.6L model...

It didn't even have a fitting that would fit the vacuum line. The bizarre part is the part number outside the box is the one listed for a 4.6 2v Mustang. Maybe I just got the bizarre defect. The one with no hole and no hose barb to fit in either. I also got an extra one in the box.

I haven't decided if I should drill and tap it. The plenum has some strange area that is partially drilled so the problem that I'm thinking is if I drill and tap the metal is going to get too weak in the area and break since it protrudes out of the plenum.

It is common when casting parts to cast partial bores in bosses and the like--it saves metal and eases the machining effort. The rear threaded hole is smaller than the front, so the boss should be large enough.

You should have received two barbs for the front lower drivers side, of differing hose sizes to match the hose on your car; and two of the same size for the port near the TB and the rear.

This is a Trick-Flow kit, the Pro-Products is the same thing:

Here are the two front, lower barbs:

110% FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt)...

I have installed, or assisted in installing, a half-dozen or more PP setups with no issues of any kind--other than the throttle cable barrel end being a tight fit in the bell crank--which BTW was also the case with the single Accufab TB I helped install...

The intake tube is a very tight fit on any TB larger than 70mm, are you certain the return spring was installed properly?

My hose barbs are all similar except for one of them. That's why I figured there is something wrong.

You definitley get what you pay for most of the time.
I have the Professional Products 70mm throttle body. The intake tube does fit you need to stretch the rubber around it. If you didn't have to stretch that rubber portion, it probably wouldn't be 70mm then. It would probably be the stock size and defeat the purpose of buying a larger throttle body. And my throttle body I just needed to file a slightly bigger whole for the throttle cable to fit in and everything else ran smoothly.

Most aftermarket parts I expect to have a small defect and have to modify them a little to fit my car. There are those things that you just don't want to deal with.
