Default factory dyno tests

I have 2000 GT. I had it ordered from the factory, and it came in with 80 miles on it. The dealer said ford does qa dyno tests on some cars before they are shipped. When the car arrived it was covered in proctective wrap so I had assumed it was a legit test. Has anyone ever had or heard of a practice like this? - or was my car taken for a ride?

thanks for any info!!

I've personally never heard of that. Did they give you the dyno numbers?

It's Legit.

They do the same thing at Bowling Green with the Corvettes. Pick a random car off the line and test it. I asked that very question when I went on a tour of the place.

I'm pretty sure they do the test on every Mustang off the line. It is not a dyno pull. They put the car on rollers and run it through the gears. but not 80 miles worth of tests.
I've also been to bowling green and the run every Vette over the rollers and test it they only randomly choose cars to go into the shaker test.
And I'm almost positive every OEM runs cars over rollers after assembly
