Are you serious? I've been putting 5 quarts of oil in my 2000 GT since 108,000 and now its at 134,000. Its filled it up just fine. At least thats what the dipstick says.

An independent test in 2001 revealed that under hard cornering the 4.6L 2V could be starved for oil with only 5 qts in the crankcase. Because of this report Ford changed the recommended fill to 6 qts, and the dipstick and owner's manuals (download them here) to accommodate the change.

If you drive like a normal person, or even quite a bit more aggressively, this is not an issue--however the recommended fill is 6 qts regardless of the MY or dipstick markings.

Point: Cliff

The increased heat is called heat soak. Engines actually get hotter after they are turned off due to the fluids no longer circulating. Hence turbo coolers where the fans run for a bit after shut down.

As for the heat I lost over 40 degrees under hood when I went from the stock GT hood to the heat extractor Cobra hood. True story!

Yeah, the only 'aggressive' driving I do is just straight line acceleration when getting on a highway. Or maybe a traffic circle, or a highway loop-around on/off ramp and in those cases I'm not reaching the peak of my tires or anything, haha. Would you recommend me adding an extra quart next oil change or just stay with what I've been doing for the past years of my stang?

Its not a big deal man you need to refill with 6 quarts, bottom line. I've been doing that per cliffy's advice since i've owned my car @ 50,000 miles and i've been boosted for 7,000 miles now with 90,000 miles total on my car and i'm fine. I also made the switch to 10w-30 about 20,000 miles ago.

If you work for ford, vin matching the engine shouldn't be an issue.

And if you want to know romeo or windsor, look at the valve covers. These are 4.6 basics...
