Default speedo not working

Question, I just bought a 2003 conv GT. It has 37,000 miles on it. I probably drove the car 5 to 10 times and the speedometer stopped working as well as the odometer. Coincidently the car would randomly stall every once in a while. Any ideas guys? I appreciate all your help.

Does your car have a speed re-calibrator, to make up for gears or anything like that?

The speedometer is electronically (digitally) driven by PCM, based on input from the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor on the tranny.

If the sensor or wiring are bad the speedometer and odometer will not work; also engine control will be affected as the PCM uses the OSS signal as part of IAC strategy for both idle speed and "dashpot" functions while shifting/deceleration/stopping.
