Default 302 into a '96.... Is it possible?

I've got a '96 GT with the SOHC 4.6L.... It currently has a blown head gasket. I was wondering how hard a 302 swap would be. I'm looking to take one out of a '95 GT and just swap it in, what all is gonna be involved in this process?

You will need the 94-95 K-Frame as well. I'm not sure if a t45 trans will bolt to a pushrod. But a majority of things will need to be changed with the wirring and ecu. Is the 95 a donor car or do you only have the engine?

The t45 will not bolt up to a pushrod. Like uber asked I hope the 95 is a donor car to make it easier. And honestly the 95 stock 5L is a dog

Hmm..... well with that information I think I may end up going w the 351. After I posted this I got to lookin' and saw a bunch of guys asking about that swap. The motor from the '95 was gonna be a junkyard find. I found a couple, wasn't sure what else I'd need. If the "95 302 sucked which one should I have my eyes open for? I'm kind of a new Ford guy, this is my first Pony

If you are willing and able to do the work, swap in a 4v motor (4.6 4v)

Don't foget it's illegal to put an older motor into a newer car. Just sayin'.

The t45 and your stock k member still wont work with a 351. The easiest swap and most powerful swap you can prob do is look for a DOHC 4v out of a mark 8 or a cobra. All you'r factory electronics will work as well and the motor will drop in and bolt to the tranny. All youlll need is the ecu/wirring harness or IMRC deleltes and a tune.

Hmmm, it can still be street legal if you apply for a modified vehicle title.
