Default oil section didnt really help, heres hoping you guys can

ive always run dino oil ever since i bought my baby 3 years ago. i have now decided to go full sythetic since my cheapness bug has gone away. i was wonder what weight oil would be best because ive read that pretty much nobody on here is running 5w-20. also which synthetic you would recomend, i was thinking either royal purple or mobil-1.

thanks in advance,
Endrance

but i dunno what ima run once i get my motor in, since apparently MMR says for the first 6000 miles i cannot run synthetic...

I change my oil every six months, durring the spring and fall.
RP
0w-20 for the winter.
5w-30 for the summer.
and get a K&N filter, the nut on the end can be priceless.

so what should i run for my first 6000 miles - MMR says no synthetics for that interval. i plan to only us RP from now on since i never saw that post (RP was always my favorite, i only ran M1 when i couldnt get RP)...

Pennzoil platinum or pennzoil ultra is what I would recommend, its beleived that platinum is actually a group IV base just like RP and amsoil. The Ultra uses a refined base 3 stock with good cleaning characteristics. Alot of oil gurus stay away from Mobil 1 since they change there base stock formula a few years back.
