Default Problems with Solid Motor Mounts?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever had problems with solid motor mounts??

i ordered a set of ebay, probably why i'm having problems, and the driver side mount came up short... i had to not only drill out the holes, but re-bend it to extend the material ever so slightly. the passenger side worked fine.

the seller also told me that they didnt have any painted ones left, only zinc, and to get the painted i would have to wait, so i said screw it ship me the zinc ones and i painted them with engine paint myself. if it doesnt stick whatever (seems fine for now, well until i clamped them down to bend the driver side and drill out the holes slightly)

i took pictures, i'll upload them eventually..

yea, basically its shaped like this _/ŻŻ\__

i just bent the part that is farther to the right of the plateau, "(right of the screen)
thats the longer peice that only has the single bolt. i bent it so that the slope is at less of an angle... (bent it up) then i had to re-bend the long arm back down to be level with the short arm. its complicated lol, but when you actually think about it, it makes sense...

Bending it slightly should be fine, well atleasy when a solid mounts goes, it goes. So you know it if that baby snaps.

yea, that metal was soft as hell. using standard crappy drill bits it drilled out waaay to easy. it'll be fine, alot better than my worn out rubber mounts lol.

this isnt the first pair i ever purchased either, i had this exact same problem with UPR mounts too. (edit: except it was BOTH mounts that were jacked up)

*note* these pictures are high resolution and about 1.5 to 2 MB each, i decided to link them outside this website because i didnt feel like cropping and compressing.

this is a picture before i bent it, you cant see the bolt hole well because of the flash, but i had to bend it at the red arrow and the blue arrow. at the red arrow, i bent it outward (toward bolt hole) to extend it every so slightly, i didnt have to bend it far. about the tickness of the meterial. me and my dad discussed this, its probably because of the tooling. whoever designed this mount probably didnt take into account that when you press something to get a bend, the material "shrinks" if thats the right word, because the curve takes up more metal. that would explain why it was off about the tickness of the material.

these are the other pictures for comparison. note that the (all of them) holes on the messed up mount were already drilled out about an 1/8th of an inch before i got the idea to take pictures, so originally the bolt holes were off alot more (about half the original diameter of the hole)...
