Default what's this hole for?

so i'm lookin at my MMR block while i was puttin on my starter, and my dad says to me, "isnt it suppose to go on this side?" and i'm like wtf? so i look and on the other side, there's a huge hole opposite of the starter, about the size of the starter.

did other 4.6 applications have the starter on the opposite side? i dont remember there being something there. the "blocker plate" between the trans and the motor doesnt cover the hole either. i'll post pics up in a moment.

you can see the back of the flywheel... so i'm really confused now... not really sure how any sort of starter would be used there?? should i block it off with a platic peice + RTV?

oh and, it seems that my old dipstick is REALLY loose in that press fit hole, you can see i havent installed it yet...

really sucks not having the old block to compare...

lol thats what he said...

Sorry I'm drunk.

Maybe it's for a boat? I really don't know, if you don't get an answer I'll look at my stock shortblock in the garage tommorow and see if that's there. I don't think it is, though. But I don't see why a block off plate and some RTV to hold it wouldn't work. There's nothing supposed to be there, so it should be find juts blocked off.

PS

Tommorow is spelt t-o-m-m-o-r-o-w right? The forum always underlines it like it's seplt wrong and it pisses me off... I'm drunk sorry lol.

good times, good times indeed.

edit: btw, what do you think of my awesome weld job on my EGR tube. lol. oh yea.

Wow, I'm normally pretty good at spelling. But I've always thought it was two M's and one R. I'll blame it on the public school systems that failed me, cause this is modern day America and people aren't responsible for their own mistake/actions.

Thanks for the spelling lesson guys, lol.

Drunk at 11:47pm, up at 7:26am. Not bad. Or are you 'still up'?

No, I just sober up really fast. I had two or three more beers after that post, then went to sleep. And I'm good now. I don't get hangovers and I sober up really fast. Usually within 30 minutes of stopping drinking, regardless of how drunk I am.
