You have a good plan. The Flowmasters are famous for the in-cabin harmonic on the highway. You need something with a deeper tone to help eliminate that droning sound you speak of.

Magnaflows are a great idea. They should solve your problem, sound great, will never rust, and....

because you are a forum member, you can get them for less than you think. Go to www.completeexhaust.com and get their phone number. Call them and let them know you are a member to get the best price. Guy told me in another thread that he got the MagnaFlow cat back for $340 DELIVERED! That is a fantastic price. I'm going for the MFs in a few months or so.

Good luck

I got mine for $330 shipped to my house from http://www.fulllineexhaust.com/. I ordered them two summers ago though, so I don't know if there has been a change in pricing.

I also had the h pipe with the 2 chamber Flowmasters and the drone at about 75 MPH was ridiculous. I went to an X pipe with Magnaflows. The soud is much softer at low throttle(very similar to stock), but sounds incredible at WOT. Best of both worlds.

I have the magna flows with the MAC o/r pro-chamber and there is no drone at highway speeds. I have taken the car on 2 hour plus trip and my wife does not complane about anything. It is louder that stock on the highway but you can still have a conversation with someone else in the car. You also will not have to crank up your tunes to drown out the exhaust note. They are great and I think you get best of both worlds, because at idle it is a little louder than stock and at WOT it sounds really good.

I just made the 7 1/2 hour trip from home to my new college, and I have no drone.... My magnaflows are real quiet at idle, but they scream at WOT, it is the best combo, IMO. I can keep it quiet when need be (residential neighborhoods when its late/by the cops) and let it rip when I give it throttle. I was cruising at just a tad under 3K rpms (85-90 MPH) and I got no cabin noise on my trip.

I have the MAC PRO_Chamber and Magnaflows. Yep, get it from John at completeexhaust. It's been about 1 year now and no complaints. Ditto everything said above by the other members. You will sound impressive without unintentionally waking people up or giving yourself a headache. Every once in a blue moon I wish mine were a tad louder but it's a commuter car and I drive sometimes 6 hour trips one way so skr3w that!!!
