Unhappy Have a gear swap question

I want to put a 3.73 ring/pinion setup in my 99GT (5-speed). The company I'm getting them from (American Muscle- great site) says it should cost about $250 or so in labor, however, the quotes I'm getting from local shops are more in the $500-$600 range!! Is AM just wrong, or, does anyone know of any reputable shops that will do it for $250-$300?

I live in the eastern panhandle of WV, which is right on the border of northern VA, and Maryland, and Southern PA......Any advice is much appreciated!!

Dont know of any shops around you but $250-$300 is about right. My 4.10's were installed for $300.

Installing gears "shouldn't" (in parenthasis) cost more than $350. Like I said, mine cost me $300 and all my other friends haven't paid more than $350.

Sounds like you got a price including gear. Make sure they know you already have the gears. $350 seems to be what shops are charging in my area. I am just gonna but mine in myself. Hopefully this weekend.
