Do you think that tuned equal length shorty headers would be better for what i'm trying to do?

thanks for all the info so far.
GTFO = get the f*ck out...I was saying that to the guy that said shorties were better then LTs. Long tube headers or stick with the stock manifolds.

LTs won't hurt street performance.

I wish i had gone with longtubes instead of shorties, I'll definitely be making the switch in the future. Macs will run under $500, kooks with a midpipe will usually run between $1100-1400 depending on whether you want cats or not. Personally I'll spend the money on a stainless exhaust but thats not for everyone. As far as install, any header is a pain in the ***. You either have to jack the motor or drop the k, if not both. With the stock k member, you just dont have a lot of room and it can be very difficult to get to many of the bolts. With a tubular k it might be a different story, bit otherwise most shops will call this an 8+ hour job.

That's a good question. I'd like to know that as well. Any specific shop you know where that $350 price came from. I'd like to have that saved when it comes time to buy.

Long tubes make great power across the entire RPM range due to the long smooth bends of the primaries which then open into a large collector.

Our Stainless Works LT's use a 1 5/8" primary, 2.5" Collector and X-Pipe.

Part No. M9604
Retail Price $1609.02

I think you have an extra # in that price. J/K looks nice but way out of the price range of 99.99% of the posters on this site

If you're gonna get the sss catback you're gonna want a shorty mid pipe with cats or it will most likely sound like ****. Also I would wait to get the mid pipe and get a matching mid pipe for the headers you decide to get. You don't really want to try to mix and match a mid pipe with longtubes, tend to get lots of fitment issues from my experience and some other users on here from what i can remember.

Well if those Macs are as affordable as they say they are, what midpipe matches up with that? Also I was told an H pipe sounds better with the SSS than an X is that right?

Or am I misunderstanding what kind of midpipes can have a cat in it?
