Depending on what the current Compression on the motor is, when you get forged pistons and rods, lower it to 9.5:1 (no clue what it is stock) so that you can put the most boost in.

Yep, forged crank, rods, and pistons 9(Low compression). VT, Fox Lake, Patriot, etc. Heads w/ some blower cams.

I would go lower than that, maybe 8.5:1

Keep the 1.7 and run it at 14 PSI you'll stil get your 500+ hp. But yes, get the forged everything and ported and polished heads and blower cams

Well your gonna need some serious bucks to get you there. More then 10 grand. You will need a whole new block, forged internals, all the engine goodies, new tranny, new fuel system, probally a built or new rear end, the new kenne bell, and alot for gas. Your looking at way over your planned budget. If you really want 600 RWHP, get a cobra and throw a kenne bell on that. Trust me it will be cheaper when all is said and done. You will only need minor mods to keep it running good.
