Default Built Engine with Bama Tune, cylinder missing?

I recenty had my '97 mustang engine built.. Almost all the internals in the engine (pistons, crank, etc,) are built by Probe Industries. After the car was all put together we took it for a drive.. i couldn't tell if it was missing or if there just wasn't enough fuel pressure. We then called Bama and told them every single thing done to the car and they wrote us a tune. low end (3000-4000) rpm it still feels like it misses but im not sure if thats actually whats happening. Anyone know what this might be and how i can fix it? i have a SCT LiveWire tuner. Thank you in advanced!

Its called mail order tunes are garbage, the only way to tune a car the right way is on a dyno.

omg i love how there are 3 active posts right now bout mail order tunes!!! mail order is not a tune cause there no body is looking at your car and making changes to your car there just saying oh this should work so lets do this!!

you just paid a crap load of money and your bout to blow it out your a$$ if you dont take that thing to a dyno immediately and i mean NOW!! stop driving it stop driving it hard just coast your way to the dyno

there is no other fix for your car unless to take it to the dyno and have it tuned

i just had my new motor tuned, the guy spent 5 hours with the car while i hung out and watched , it costs 500 bucks . that tune is fine to get the car started and drive directly to a shop to get it done correctly

You don't need a dynamometer to do a proper tune (it's just a convenient tool for monitoring progress), however the tuner does need to be "hands on" with the engine. BAMA does a great job however a mail order tune is at best an educated guess.

As AdderMk2 said--"get a real tune"...

Thanks, i figured out why it was missing. the engine did throw a code that cylinder # 2 was misfiring.. i decided to do a little experiment and completely switch around cylinder 2 and 6 plugs and plug wires around. runs so much better now. And yeah Bama works great i think

cliffyk- im gonna respectfully disagree with you do need a dyno or data loggin on the road to properly tune a car!! a dyno is better because its on a fixed base where you dont have to worry bout diff issues on the road that wouldnt give you the most accurate reading of the car...an now im gonna contradict myself- it is good to data log on the road after you get the dyno tune cause it sometimes acts diff while shiffting and such like mind did...but for the base power curve a dyno is needed

like bama KB whipple vortech and whoever writes mail tunes they are jsut to get you from where you built the car to your dyno tuner...the tune they built has no way to account for issues with our fuel or your supercharger or whatever could go wrong the only way to do that is if someone personally takes the time to tune YOUR CAR..i say YOUR cause not 2 cars are ever the same ever!

so josh im glad you found the prob but you seriously need to take it to a dyno tuner and have it done he will reuse that handheld that bama gave you but dont pi$$ away your car and money with a cheap tune

who knows your car could be on the virge of blowing up right now cause its starving for fuel but you dont know cause no one has looked at it to tune it
