Appreciate the feedback. Sounds like it's not as cut and dry as it could be since it's about 50/50 here as well. One thing to call out is that I was speaking crank HP with the 10GT. I'm looking at the JDM 500hp kit but right now it's just the basic m-90.

As for the slow down comment. You don't know my wife. She calls me the grandpa driver for a reason. She loves the acceleration and likes playing with other hotrods on the road. For example - I put a new engine in our corvette (I know, I know) and she was upset because I didn't go bigger. Gotta lover her.

Being in my 30's insurance isn't much of a concern and I'll try to pay cash for the difference in cars so no new payments. Guess I'll give it a couple of months to find that "right" cobra. If it comes along then I'll jump on it but if not that could be the sign to mod the GT. Will be a tough sell as she told me this week she only is willing to give the GT up for a coupe that is SB or a mystichrome with less than 50K miles and all of those I see are either highly modded or way over priced.

Keep the GT and supercharge it. GT's have WAAAY less insurance rates.

Even a cheap non intercooled vortech supercharger kit you can snag for $2k used. Add a few hundred for tuning/etc and for well under $3k it'll pretty much keep up.

Or if you have the money, throw a procharger kit on there intercooled 10 PSI should put you around max HP for the GT's rods about 425 RWHP. Thats about $5k to do that.

ok no edit button?

I personally like GT's because of the sleeper factor. Pretty much everybody know's that GT's are pretty slow in mostly stock form, so when you got that SC under the hood you surprise a lot of people.
