Default 98 cobra wont hold oil, HELP!

Im new to this forum, and new to the fors scene. Iv always wanted a cobra and got my chance to buy one today. I was so excited to take the 75 mile ride home then it happened......

Going down the highway and notice alot of smoke coming from the rear of the car, so i stop look it over and relize the engine is bone dry. I crawl to the reares gas station buy up all the oil they have in stock and add it in. start the car and all that new oil blows out...WTF.

Long story short i call a tow truck to get me home 75 mile away for a charge of 200 bucks, wich concidering the circumstances wasent bad. That driver help me so i tipped him 50 bucks and made his day.....

Any one have a idea as to what happened? i want so bad to fix this.

Put oil in it and then check the oil cooler assy (it is where the oil filter attaches to the block). There is also a water coolant passage that connects to it (its what helps cool the oil). There is a relief hole in the assembly that will squirt a steady stream of oil out of it if the internal o-ring is bad. Mine was spraying oil out of it; I had to get a repair kit from Ford. Not too expensive, and it fixed the problem. Look into that before going any further (unles the engine is seized up). Good luck.

bud... i think you bought a GT with a cobra motor in it...

whats the vin number?

Also does the steering wheel say COBRA on it?

Does the rear bumper say Cobra?

Along with the GT wheels and front bumper it's missing a strut tower brace... i really think thats a 4v swapped GT.
