Exclamation HELP WITH COBRA R HOOD LATCHING!

ok guys so i just got my 2000 cobra r hood from HO Fibertrends, looks rele nice and as i went to go put it on the hinges didn't quit line up properly with the holes in the hood, unlike the OEM hood with threads on the hood and a nut used to hold it down, the cobra hood is threaded and you use a screw, so no big deal just going to drill a bigger hole into the hinges to adjust the alignment so its equal on both sides, now my problem is the hood latch is preventing it from sitting all the way down and wont stay down, i don't know if this is because the oem hood was so much heavier it would allow the hood to stay down but it wont stay down now, i took the latch off and checked everything and the hood sat pefect so i know its nothing but the latch, im not sure how to go about this but i need this to get into the shop tomorrow! i can't drive the car with a hood that isn't secure, anyone know what i should do? i don't want hood pins, but the latch seems like its to high? i know some people would put washers under the latch to raise it but im lost guys, please help!

Once the hood is aligned properly it might have the angle it needs to latch properly, IMO I would just hood pin an aftermarket hood beacause I've seen way to many pop open on the highway then ur looking at a busted hood, busted windshiel, and a dented roof.

This is exactly how my harwood hood was, and cobra frenzys harwood hood is as well, they just simply will only latch the saftey latch and not the primary. Just out of the simply thought of it flying open even if it did latch after all the troubles I would have to question the fact of it popping open, hood pins and forget it IMO.

i actually out of no where on my last ditch effort just pushed the hood down out of frustration and it latched haha and it latched well, no any movement whatsoever, i pushed up as hard as i could and it wouldn't budge, so i got it to the body shop no prob and there gona look at the latch and make it easier to close! so all is good, i guess i got lucky finally lol ill post pics in a new thread once the cobra r hood and roush stage 3 bumper is finshed being painted, should be about 2 weeks! can't wait!
