Default Pilot bearing install!!

OK on the home stretch of my transmission install and removal, it only took me 3 hrs to remove the trans completely from the car off my 03 GT by myself with air tools and im 20 with no serious mechanical background (my dad is a mechanic so its helps lol) but i did it myself but besides that i just got my pilot bearing out (super easy using the bread trick!!) and went to install the new one in but it wouldn't sit flush like my other one did, this is a FRPP part so i know it should fit perfect, long story short i hammered the hell out of the thing and didn't do squat so i took it back out and am going to get a new one but im trying to figure out what i did wrong and or if its supossed to sit flush with the crank shaft?! im definitely a pro at removing the pilot bearing now thats for sure but i need help installing it, im going to get a new one tomorrow but before i install it again lmk what other did and hows theirs fit! it is the correct part and everything fyi, thanks guys! if anyone needs certain pics while the trans is out lmk now is the time to ask!

Honestly it may just stick out a little bit compared to the one that came out, there really isn't a need for it to sit flush anyway. Was it crooked?

no when comparing the two side by side the FRPP one actually looks to be a tad smaller in size im talking like a ml at the most but otherwise there the same with the same size groove at the end, so i know it should sit flush i just don't know why i couldn't get it to
