300HP recommendations?
I have heard of people having LTs installed for as little as $250 to $300, at the better shops in Daytona it would be $1000 to $1200.
As a number of others have said I do not see the bang for the buck. This combined with the far too common 20k to 30k later problems of leaking manifold gaskets and cracking welds, and that they need to come off (at least one side) to pull the tranny, just makes me not want the hassle.
They do sound VERY nice however.
In my particular situation I do not care to have them as I am trying hard to enjoy (and afford) my retirement, as I watch my life's savings being gobbled up by Washington's fiscal mismanagement of our nation. Worse than that it looks as though I may live far longer than I ever thought...

Thats essentially what we have been discussing here, What to do to get 300FWhp. My guess is those mods would get it close, but not at the wheels. Are you looking for possible ET's as well?
It'll vary slightly depending if it's auto or 5spd. The cat-back exhaust is more about preference of sound then actually horsepower (won't be seen on a dyno). The CAI is is worthless in our model of cars, it'll add maybe 1 ehh 2 hp tops. Now the 05+ Mustangs (respond to this better). I'd say with o/r h pipe + CAI + tune = 230ish rwhp. Those gears however should help your ET at the track though.

I may forego the catback. I have Flowmaster 40's welded on to the factory system now and I love the sound, I just want more of it, esp. at lower RPM, hence the o/r H-pipe.
That's about it for performance for now. Down the road maybe cams, throttle-body, etc, but for now, I'll turn most of my efforts to looking and sounding cool :P I have access to used lowering springs and o/r H-pipe and maybe a programmer.
300rwhp n/a? I am guessing head work and cams minimally (or trick flow heads), right? Might also look at a 5.4L swap, as a cheap swap. Then again, if you're gonna swap motors, a 4v makes sense... maybe that's going too far
It's an auto, and thanks for the input. I don't drive the car daily, so I think 4.10's would be good for performance and the higher cruising RPM would sound good for.. you know, cruising. :P Any idea how horrid my gas mileage might be? heh.

^ You do those things & trust me from the line, light, and tree you're in the money. The other car is gonna have to have some "goodies" to catch up after you haul-out quicker then snot.
Your gas mileage prob will take a 2ish mpg hit.
