Looking for opinions....
I'm new to this sight. But I have a question I'm hoping I can get opinions on. I have a 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 2v VIN code X. The car Idles great, and revs without load great. Once it's in gear and with load I can hear a little rattling noise.... To me it sounds like it's coming from the number 1 bank and my opinion it sounds like a loose rocker arm. Since these things are over head cams... My guess is it's a crushed "lifter/Auto adjust valve lash guide" Not sure though. It's not real loud but def noticeable at all RPM ranges with load. Please all Opinions are appreciated. Also if it is that.. Is it possible to replace the lifters without completely removing the cam??? Thank you.

Are you sure it's coming from the engine?? I say this because a few months back I had a similiar noise in my 97 Cobra. It was very noticeable when going slower under load like up a hill. A mechanic friend of mine said he thought it was the clutch but it just didn't seem like it was coming from that area. Sounded to me like it was coming from the engine. Based on what he thought we replaced the clutch and the noise is gone. We looked at the old clutch and could not see anything wrong. All I know is the noise is gone!!
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's coming from the engine valvetrain. I had this similar problem on my 92 talon TSI. I changed the lifters and it solved the problem. But It also had a bad valve spring. So I'm hoping it's just the lifter.. But not sure. I've bought a set of lifters and valve cover gaskets. I'm just hoping that I can figure out what the problem is before tearing into it and putting a bunch of money into and not fixing the prob. Thanks for the respond.
Sorry should have added this. I can drive like 30 MPH and put into 5th gear and give it gas. Of course I'm not going anywhere quick that away, But you can hear the noise prominently, because there's no exhaust blowing my eardrums out.
