Default Bad news, first post.

I've been lurking around the forums for several months, but today I felt the urge to post. I was driving my 2002 GT to an optometrist appointment today when I was rearended at a stoplight which forced me to hit the car in front.

We all pulled over to exchange information and then went our seperate ways. No police report was filed because no one was hurt and no one felt as if it was needed. Now for the interesting part. I get home, call her insurance, and file a claim taking care of everything on that end. The guys in front of me who i was pushed into arent going to file a claim because they decided there wasnt enough damage. Then a few minutes ago I get a call from the girls husband who says that his wife said that I had hit the car in front of me causing her to slam on the breaks before hitting me. He was furious, questioning why I had filed a claim and why I had said that she caused the entire accident. Naturally I was aggravated by this turn of events and gave him the number of the people in front of me if he needed more witnesses as to what happened. I called the guys in front of me again to confirm as to what had happened and they agreed with me.

i realize that was long and sort of garbled so I appologize. But I'm still kind of shaking from having that guy call and try to change the story. It angers me to no end that some one would go that far to get out of having insurance go up.

It can come back to bite you in the ***. Screw that dumbass husband. He needs to realize his wife was eating crap and probably can drive for ****.

You better get a lawyer now, buddy. NEVER leave an accident without a police report because now its your word versus hers. Ive been in several accidents, and while im no expert, I do know that you are going to have one hell of a time now getting your car fixed by her insurance.

I see it on the forums here all the time, I see my friends do it all the time.

If you value your car, your wallet and your patience, ALWAYS call the police and file a report, ALWAYS.

I would have simply hung up on that ladies husband before he got any words in.

always always always, even if you drive a freekin bomb, get a police report, it will tell what happened, and you pretty much cant fight a police report in court. So stuff like this does not happen.
