Default Kenne bell on a 100k mile daily driven GT?

My gt is basically stock other than a cobra differential clutch pack, a cobra clutch, and flowmasters. I want to have about 400 rwhp and i am considering going with a kenne bell supercharger. Would this route be a good choice for a daily driver that needs to remain reliable? The other options is one of the turbo kits, but for some reason i think the kenne bell will be more reliable.

The GT is in good shape for 102k miles, no issues and it still runs like the day i got it.

Id be getting the intercooled kit at 9 psi and whatever is needed to keep it at a reliable 400 rwhp.

Any information/experiences/suggestions would be appreciated

Im open to any options to get to 400 rwhp, other than nitrous.

Well, if it were me( and i wish it were $$$$$) Id go with a KB...or even a centrifugal. Just be careful with the pressure, Obviously intercool...

Of course many say this:
Boost---->Blow Engine-----> Rebuild Engine-----> BOOOOOOST!!

As long as the car was well maintained you should be fine, a centri is cheaper then a KB, one of the reasons i went centri. I am at 400rwhp with my setup and i have a auto trans

Make sure it has a nice tune on it which was done by someone who knows what they're doing.

have the compression checked to test how healthy the motor is and if all is good id go with it. my kb has been on my car for over 10k miles now with no issues at all besides the stock clutch that just went out. my cars at 71k miles now.

I put my vortech on at 156K and I'm up to 160K pushing 396 rwhp. It has been very reliable and doesn't burn any oil.

As long as you use the correct spark plug and gapping(NGK TR6 gapped @ ~.035), get a professional tune that keeps A/F @ 12.0 or less and the drivetrain that you have has been reasonably and consistently serviced you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

I installed my KB @ about 86,000 miles and i'm at 104K now with 15 months of daily driven miles and everything runs strong right now.

FYI the rotating assembly(Crankshaft + Connecting Rods + Pistons) will blow far before anything when talking about this type of setup. The stock transmission(4R70W) is remarkably strong and stands up to gobs of power without modification. The stock rear end also holds true to this. With modification of either of these they can hold much more power. Concentrate on keeping your motor healthy and always keep a possible blow up in mind.

Something you should know is that depending on how/if the motor blows with a KB setup can be pretty costly. If you break under heavy throttle and boost you could wreck your supercharger head-unit, cylinder heads, motor and be talking about a really expensive rebuild.

I wouldn't see any reason it wouldnt be ok, as long as you know your car runs like it should making more power shouldnt scare you. What size are you going to be getting? I used to have a good friend with the KB 2.1 intercooled.. Kenne bell hands down make the best superchargers available for our cars and they have customer service second to none. I do no that on the 2.1 kit kb recomends not running more than 9psi for a long period of time on a daily driven car because it starts to wear things out such as the transmission and rear end..
