how to launch? or how to improve it with mods?
ok, well i need to get my stang into the mid 8's 1/8 mile atleast. yesterday i ran at the track and ran a 9.4 @77.4 and i want a whole lot faster. for the mods i have, i should be atleast 9.1 someone said to me. but i just cant get any traction off the line and i have to be light on the clutch on my shifts so i dont kick the rear end out. i have bad traction on the shifts and launch. how can i cut my times down about a second?

What rpm are u launching it at? When u launch are u slipping the clutch or dumping it? Also what tires do you have on there now? If ur running street tires id say u need some dr's, prefferably nitto's.

i was launching around 2500-2800 rpm with traction control off. ive got some 245/45/r17 Bfgoodrich G-force sports on there.. AA traction A temp, 380 treadwear?
i slip the clutch alittle bit... not to much. its not like a full drop, but i let off it quick.
what do you think about those times with the mods i have and tires?

380 treadwear! Are you running an 80,000 mile tire? LOL You need to get down to a 150-100 treadwear for decent traction or get the MT DRs or BFG DRs which have no tread wear rating. LOL Those tires are whats killing you.

Get some drag radials, they make a world of a difference. In my car i was running 9.1's when i first got it on street tires. When i put on the nittos 555r's i was able to dump my clutch completly at 3k and pull a 8.6 flat.

i think they are 40,000 mile tires. lol. i guess i will look into some DR's to run the on the car then. what are some good rims i should put them on? i planned on having them as race tires and then run in what ive got right now for street driving.
the good news is that at the track, i put the owning on a 3000GT from my school that is suppose to be SUPER FAST according to everyone at school because its got a JDM motor swap and a nitrous system running 75 shot... he ran 9.8-10.0, i ran pretty consistent 9.4-9.5 going slow in my shifts and spinning.

Thats cool.
If you want better weight transfer, then take off the front sway bar before you go to the track next time. Just be careful going there with it off because the car drives a little different without it.
When you take off without a sway bar, it allows the front end of the car to raise better.
